How Ahmad runs the room
The run sheets are the lesson. This page is the rest of a complete delivery: the room, the register, the way seniors are handled, and the note that goes to the sponsor. These files stay off the shared drive.
Room, ten days out
Pre-work, in the invite
- Install Excel desktop (Microsoft 365) and Power BI Desktop. Open each one once, on the laptop you will bring.
- Confirm you can save a file on that laptop. A locked-down machine is the usual failure, and it is not a Day 1 problem.
- Read the definitions on the Brief. No other pre-reading.
- Bring one question your director actually asked in the last month. Do not bring live customer data. Practice data stays in the room. Work data stays at work.
In the room
- No energisers. No fun-fact openers. The work starts.
- The first answer is usually status. Wait. Ask for the number.
- If someone says they already have a dashboard, agree — and ask them to reconcile it to this file in twenty minutes.
- Never mock a wrong chart. Ask what decision it supports.
- Protect the quiet ones in critique. Fast talk is not evidence.
- Timebox formatting. Call the freeze at the posted minute.
- Clinic is at the side table, ten minutes, the next morning. Do not remediate in public.
- Language stays spoken. No leverage, no synergy, no journey. Say what the number does.
Register
Stays in this browser. Present, partial, or absent. Partial means a lab block missed and a file due by 18:00.
Opening the register…
Same-day feedback
Read the 14-day line first. The rest is for the next run, not for comfort.
Sponsor note
One page, the next morning. No names on the quotes.
- Attendance: present, partial, absent. Who completed.
- Three patterns in the briefs. What they chose to fix, and what they wrongly blamed on an agent.
- What the file would not support. Name the cuts the room kept trying to make.
- Two changes for the next run. Not a catalogue.
- What this course does not claim. It does not move NPS. It moves whether Monday is about a real queue.
A 14-day note, sent by the sponsor and not by the facilitator: did they run the rhythm once? That is the only follow-up worth asking for.
